At first, to combine the elements which influence characters design to find out two big parts of character design:the version and emotion design, and the four principles of characters design--game characters correspond with game genre, fit for game aesthetic principle, unite with game plots and characters' individual perform principle.Then according contents and principles of characters design, comparing designs among Western, Japonic and Chinese areas; analysing advantages and disadvantages in Western and Japan which are two main game areas, and reasons caused the differences between those two areas--the differences between aesthetic accepting and cultures.Taking use of that, Chinese game characters design could combine Chinese indigenous aesthetic standard and culture with absorbing foreign owns, after that, "taking the essence and discard the dregs" to promote Chinese characters design to international.Nowadays, due to game characters design has influenced by traditional version and game market, it is still existing the phenomenon of "preferring boys to girls", especially in Western and Japonic design area, there exists the shortcoming of female characters design, on the other hind, though Chinese game characters design is in a lower position, there are also lots of advantages in female characters design of Chinese game area. This essay analyses those shortcomings and reasons which caused them.To analyse importances of female characters from the designing theory and adopt the advantages of Chinese female characters design,, then finding out disadvantages, those are good for us to take the advantages and avoid shortcomings in Chinese game characters design.More than that, according to previous searchs, this essay looks back "difficult position" in Chinese game characters design area from blend of Western and Japonic games, analysing the original reason that Chinese game characters design falls behind, exploring the ways of Chinese game characters design:combining realistic with abstract, and come up with view of characters brand images in Chinese game. At last, it touches the deeper realistic area:taking Chinese traditional elements(which contains Chinese color, Chinese traditional pattern,Chinese traditional weapons props and Chinese traditional Wushu movement) into the contents of characters design, which good for creating Chinese unique game characters and delivering Chinese traditional culture.
