Pedagogical relationship is the most basic relationship in the field of education.From the view of phenomenology and pedagogy,Pedagogical relationship is not an abstract concept just for analyzing,but a lively practical process of education.Pedagogical relationship is different from other general practical relationships.It is full of educated care,guidance and spiritual awakening from educators and to the educated ones.In Modern times,teachers are devoted to the realization of the pedagogical relationship,and the teacher-student relationship is the most important pedagogical relationship.Considering the practical nature of education,teachers must have consciousness of pedagogical relationship.First,the paper try to sort out the theoritical researches about pedagogical relationship by the early researchers;interpretatc and define pedagogical relationship from the perspective of phenomenology and pedagogy;make deep discussions of the "fundamental" meaning and "Why is it fundamental";investigate the practical status of the teacher-student relationship which is the most important pedagogical relationship;think about it deeply and sum it up,then come to a fundamental answer of "What is the teacher-student relationship".Then,the paper investigates the teacher-student relationship to learn about the situation of teachers' consciousness in practice.In qualitative research,through some face-to-face interviews with teachers and further analyzation of the interview materials,we've got some specific status of teachers' consciousness about pedagogical relationship.In quantitative research,through the method of questionnaire measuring,we've got the scope and possible extent of teachers' consciousness problem;the possible reasons of related issues and the inherent laws of them.In order to investigate the teachers' consciousness status,the questionnaires divide consciousness into five dimensions:intention,belief,understanding,implementation and effectiveness.Investigation results show that:some teachers lack clear consciousness of education to some extent.There are significant differences in the level of consciousness between outstanding teachers and ordinary teachers.The consciousness level of outstanding teachers seems to be significantly higher than that of ordinary teachers.There are also great positive correlations in all dimensions of the questionnaire.Regression analysis results show that:the level of the consciousness level of pedagogical relationship can be significantly predictions to the education level.The higher level of awareness,the higher level of education. This research tells us that there are two available aspects to raise the level of education:(1) to strengthen teachers' truly understanding of the connotation of pedagogical relationship(2) to raise teachers' consciousness of the pedagogical relationship.This is a new challenge for Teacher Education,so the paper gives some suggestions of curriculum and model for teacher education. We truly hope these suggestions can improve teachers' consciousness so as to enhance the quality of education.
