| Since the beginning of reform and open up policy, china's migration gradually gets rid of strict restrictions and gets more and more independence. The scale of inter-provincial migration is continually expanding. Because of the economic gap between different provinces, the spatial distribution of domestic migration shows strong imbalance. Inter-provincial migrants mainly flow from the Midwest to the East which is relatively developed, showing significant "to the coast" characteristics. The Trend of centralized migration to the eastern coastal areas, especially the Pan-Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta and Bohai Sea Rim, are increasingly becoming evident. The fact that China's migration varies considerably on the spatial distribution is mainly caused by the imbalances of regional economic development. In this paper, based on the description of the inter-provincial migration distribution in the 2000-2005 China, I use log-linear model to regress the cross-section data of economic incentives which impact inter-provincial migration. It shows the economic factors of Ingoing and outgoing place have significant impacts on the migration. Under the guidance of market, migrants tend to select the areas with higher income level, more employment opportunities and more developed manufacturing industry. |
