Self-learning is the need of time development, not only the students study the elementary knowledge, master basic theories and obtain the basic skill in the school, but also more importantly obtain the self-learning ability. This paper is divided into three parts. First, from the statement of lifelong learning concept, the development of lifelong education of every country, combined with the students' situation of domestic and our school to prove the necessity of self-learning. Second, from the connotation and the significance of self-learning to prove the necessity of self-learning in the current curriculum reform. Last, combined with the actual situation of our school students' weak foundation and low spirits to participate, from the following four respects to explore how to cultivate the students' self-learning ability in physics teaching. First, use independent selection to design experiment, review course lecture and discussion, so it provide a platform for full participation, encourage students to participate in teaching activity, do not class themselves as guests, instead, as the masters of the classroom; Second, use the power of example, the charm of science, innovative teaching design in classroom, to encourage the hope of students to seek knowledge, make them have the passion to try initially; what's more, try to make their interest and passion maintain lastingly, that is to make full use of every person yearns for the success, design "Jump, you can pick" goals, let them appreciate success as far as possible, thus they can participate in the classroom with more passion. Last, encourage them to put forward their own idea and opinion boldly. The question guides students to discover their own ,the knowledge guides students to explore initiatively, the law guides students to summarize. If they can find the problems themselves, and try to solve the problems by the knowledge that they have learned, I think self-learning comes into being basically.
