With the further development of education course, deepening of educational reform, and advancing of educational informatization, China's educational technology major has drawn more attentions from people of all social circles. However, there are a lot of potential risks behind the prosperity of the educational technology major. Firstly, a lot of colleges and universities have not carry out thorough analysis and feasibility study and take the actual strength and market demands into consideration when they set up educational major, merely following the suit of their counterparts. Secondly, a lot of colleges and universities who have set up this major do not have sufficient conditions, whether hardware or software conditions, to set up this major, resulting in many problems.In view of these problems, the writer selects a local university as the research object to analyze the existing problems regarding its undergraduate training program for the educational technology major based on its actual strengths and future development orientation in combination with the actual local demands for the talents of educational informatization and the current state and requirements of the undergraduates of this major. Then the writer proposes improvement strategies and designs a new training program for this university according to the analysis results. The purpose is to help this university to take advantage of its new systems receiving joint supports from Jiangxi Government and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, to promote the further development of its educational technology major and train more qualified talents in the educational technology sector, thus making contributions to the local, provincial and even national educational informatization drive.This paper consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 presents the theoretical basics and literature reviews regarding this research.Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 are the main parts of this paper. Chapter 2 carries out a thorough analysis on the actual local needs for the talents of educational informatization, current state and requirements of the educational technology major in this university as well as its undergraduate training program for the educational technology major and finds out the existing problems. Chapter 3 proposes strategies for the improvement of the existing problems on the current undergraduate training program for the educational technology major in this university and presents a new training program on the basis of the analysis results and the development opportunities and orientation of this university.Chapter 4, the final part of this paper, summarizes the findings of this paper, raises limitations of the study, and presents the recommendations for future research.
