With gradual spreading of higher education and increasing consumption of the students, their food expenditure has become multiple and differentiated. As a matter of fact, as a researching subject of social science, it has more and more values and purposes in many aspects recently. The differentiations of consumption among collage and university students has mainly rose from different economic conditions of their families, which are known as inborn gifts, since most of them have been maintained by their parents. Though it is impossible to completely eliminate inborn discriminations, we can still take advantage from higher educations that have played a significant role to reduce the importance of inborn gift in competition and enhance the social equality and fluidity in environment of market economy. The excessive differentiations especially in expenditure field among the students may result more negative effects than that of other members in a society. Through the empirical research of the students' food expenditure, we can exactly measure the extent of effects of inborn gift in higher schools, enhance the competitions in base of the students' acquired talents and present some data and theories to benefit to the abundant positive utilizations of universities and collages. Thusly, the research can not only realistically reflect the differentiations of the students, but is valuable to find some practice and effective measures to adequately suffice each student's demands of food and possibly diminish bad effects of the differentiations. The study is confined in the students in universities and collages in Xian. Via spot check and empirical analysis, the evident differences of food expenditures among higher school students in Xian both in quantity and structure had appeared, which are mostly reasoned by their families' incomes and ranks of social situations. Above all, it is necessary to make some plans to induct healthy consumptions, ensure the adequate food supply and offer part-time jobs to the students. Finally, it's possible to reduce the bad influences taken from inborn differentiations of the students.
