An important aim of the new round of China's Elementary Education Curriculum reform is to change the ubiquitous passively accept learning style and simultaneously advocate the inquiry learning style that students participate in to train students' scientific character.Based on the idea, inquiry teaching is launched extensively in every discipline teaching.In order to effectively implement the inquiry b teaching,teacher is one of the key factors among them.It requires physics teacher to form corresponding inquiry teaching ability on the basis of general teaching ability.The scholars in China have made a lot of beneficial research on teacher ability,teaching skill and teacher professional development,which are good for teacher's development.However,there are still more or less deficiencies in the research,especially under the inquiry teaching background, what kind of special ability teacher needs besides basic teaching ability in traditional teaching,what kinds of teaching ability are lack in the teaching and the reason of it,and how to improve teacher's inquiry teaching ability is still an urgent problem.So,in order to meet the new teaching way,the article mainly investigates teaching ability structure which physics teacher of middle school needs, by what way to develop the teaching ability,what kinds of elements affect the development of teaching and in reality how teachers develop inquiry teaching ability.Research on these problems has important meanings on further inquiry teaching.The full article is divided into five parts,the main content is as follows:Part one:summarizing.Summarizing mainly focuses on the problem's background,basic studied problem,research meaning and method and domestic and international relevant research studies,etc.Part two:Summarize the necessity of developing inquiry teaching in the middle school from the theory and practice.Part three:Summarize the inquiry learning's meaning and character.And based on the challenge that inquiry teaching proposes to build inquiry teaching structure.Specifically include:Ability of education and scientific research,choosing ability of inquiry teaching,ability of designing inquiry teaching,ability of implementing inquiry teaching,ability of evaluating inquiry teaching,etc.Part four:Investigations.I designed and analyzed the questionnaire according to literature,the questionnaire mainly are divided into city and countryside:First,Xi'an urban area,Xi'an First Middle School,the 30th school of Xi'an,cultivating people middle school,the 85th school of Xi'an, Chang An First Middle School,the 6th school of Chang An;Second,the rural middle school, including Baishui middle school,First Middle School of Hu County,the Second Middle of Hu County school.Part five:According to the investigation result of the fourth part,analyzing the current situation that physics teacher of middle school inquiry teaching ability and some deficiency.Meanwhile, proposing some suggestion to develop teacher inquiry teaching ability.
