"Chemical literacy is essential and useful chemical knowledge in our daily life". The reform of chemistry curriculum aims at the more public access to chemical knowledge. The students develop the sense that chemistry is useful through studying in their daily life and thus realize that they can be " from life to chemistry, from chemistry to the community."Firstly, the public lack of chemical literacy, the shortage of traditional chemistry teaching and the new concept of teaching are discussed and on the basis of modern pedagogy and psychology theory, the specific meaning of chemical literacy in the compulsory curriculum of the senior school is defined. Secondly, some operational teaching strategies have been explored in order to cultivate and enhance the chemical literacy of the students. At last, the instructional experiment is carried out too.The instructional experiment indicates that in the implementing process of this research, the students' capacities of integrating theory with practice have enhanced, and other aspects such as the students' consciousness of studying something, in order to apply it, the study method, the study habits, the study interesting have been changed, too. The observation and the pondering upon the social life's chemical phenomenon, and so on. To some extent, the students' capacities in analyzing and solving the simple chemistry question in social life have been enhanced.
