The vocational education is the outcome that makes the society developing into the certain history period. Its development is affected by the factors of society politics, economy, culture and etc. Mainland China suffers from the social change after the reform and opening up. These factors, including social ideology, social structure, and so on, show the great differences between the reform and opening up and before the reform and opening up. In the period of social transition, education system was also affected. And the education had a change. In the transitional period, vocational education is as a kind of education that needs to be suitable for social development and as a subsystem of the education system. It obtains the development of a new fortune.In the period of social transition of the reform and opening up, the revitalization of vocational education was affected by a variety of social factors. This paper reflects why vocational education would obtain the revitalization on the reform and opening up in the period of social transition in Mainland China. This paper explores the social roots of the vocational education's rejuvenation from these three aspects of ideological change, scientific and technological changes and social structural change. This article holds that the ideological change supply the political validity for the revitalization of vocational education, and the scientific and technological changes turn into the direct power source for revitalization in vocational education, and the change of the industrial structure and the structure of obtaining development provides a realistic basis for personnel training for the revitalization of vocational education, and the change of social class structure directly spurs the diversification to the education of the authority for talking inside and outside the education system.
