The contents of textbooks are selected from certain culture essence, and only a limited quantity of which are considered as legal knowledge to hand down to the younger generation.After edited by the textbook writers, these contents in textbooks are to regulate and shape ideas and thinking modes of the next generation.As to the careers of the disabled, concerns from the society has never been interrupted, by contrast, however, a lack of concern from academic circles about this field is evident, especially when it comes to the study of textbooks.Owing to this condition, the researcher will focus on the analysis of relevant issues about the disabled of two set of textbooks: the version of the People's Education Press and the version of the Jiangsu Education Press, both of which are prevailing and popular.The thesis adopts a perspective of an audience, analyzes the image of few disabled, the characteristics of the contents of the disabled and the way to present these contents in terms of asking three questions such as what types, what contents and how to present.It is found that the attention paid to the disabled are not comprehensive; though without discrimination and rejection, there is no equal attitude to the disabled group; and the cultural tolerance of the textbooks are to be enhanced.Thus, the researcher put forward three suggestions from different levels from the macro to the micro angle with respect to the overall construct of the textbooks. The suggestions are as following: try to alter the habit of traditional way of constructing textbooks; optimize the way to present the subjects of the textbooks; and see the disabled equally while promote the cultural tolerance.
