The promulgation of new curriculum standards caused the major changes of the language teaching in secondary schools: a focus on language classroom, reading, students' extracurricular reading. Extracurricular reading is the natural extension of the classroom teaching, it is an important aspect of extra-curricular language learning. It can help students understand the language stage characteristics. Extracurricular reading will help students enhance their language literacy, improve their self-an important character channels. The establishment of a progressive system of extra-curricular reading is the needs for juniors' extracurricular reading. Traditional cultural works, classics, television, network literature can form the system of extracurricular reading materials. In reading, students should learn to how to take notes, write, and promote language reading by using certain extra-curricular activities. We need to cultivate a positive image of recycling capacity to understand ability appreciation of the culture and ability to innovate, and foster students' noble feelings in extra-curricular reading. At the same time we can learn foreign reading assessment to establish a rational evaluation of extra-curricular reading system, and further promote students in extracurricular reading.
