The existing Chinese teaching materials of primary school are all co-edited ones, and the exercises in composition course teaching materials are attached to the Chinese teaching materials. In the name of "The Experimental Schoolbook with Compulsory Education Course Standard", there are 3 sets of experimental teaching materials for the Chinese teaching in the primary school published by the People's Education Press, Jiangsu Education Press and Beijing Normal University Press which are approved by the national examination and approval committee of the primary and middle schools teaching materials. This writer from the present status quo of the exercises in composition teaching tries to find out where the sticking point is for the less, slow, poor and time-taking of the exercises in composition teaching through a systematic analysis of the Chinese Teaching Materials and Exercises in Composition of Primary School Published by the People's Education Press and Jiangsu Education Press. In the thesis, a pectination is made on 5 aspects of the items, system, relationship between the exercises in composition and other parts, relation between the arrangement and children' thinking and their life reality, and presenting mode of the exercises in composition; some theoretical considerations have been taken on the determination of the training starting period, division of the training stages, selection of the contents and employment of the compiling pattern; a new compiling design for the teaching materials of exercises in composition has been put forward, and relevant argumentations have been conducted on the feasibility. The research on this subject has a certain practical guidance value on the compiling and teaching of exercises in composition.
