Writing teaching holds an important status in the teaching of high school English. However, in the current English writing teaching exists the phenomenon that the explanation of language points and writing techniques are valued but the ability training of writing thinking ignored. The study, guided by the method of meaningful learning of D. Ausubel, attempts to apply the teaching method of concept map, which introduces contrast experiments about concept maps supporting English writing teaching. A year of teaching experiments and investigations has summed up that the concept map can help improve English writing teaching, verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of the teaching mode with an objective data. In order to further improve the English writing teaching supported by concept map, we must try and learn from experience and keep on constantly improving and innovating as well.
