With the deepening of educational reform and the development of science and technology,the development of information technology,which is represented by computer technologies,has facilitated the transformation of modern educational technology.The application of educational technology has become an effective means of enhancing both learning and instruction.The New Curriculum reform has posed an enormous challenge on the traditional "teacher-centered" instructional mode.The purpose of this thesis to explore the role of technology,more specifically, the "Z+Z Intelligent Instructional Platform," in developing learners' space and graphical concepts in mathematics.According to the National New Curriculum Standard,the thesis made an analytical study of the requirements of the Standard for the instruction of space and graphics as well as key learning points in the new textbooks at the level of various grades.Moreover,the thesis made an extensive investigation into the application of the platform in improving elementary learners' mathematical space and graphics as well as in what scale and how the platform could be utilized.The special features of animation and vivid delivery of instruction in this platform were used to resolve the important and difficult mathematical problems.The platform was applied in consolidating the understanding of the space and graphical concepts as well as in building a bridge between space and graphics.It was also employed to develop learners' mathematical thinking and culture.Furthermore,it was utilized to promote mathematical instruction and mathematical problem solving so as to boost learners' interest in mathematics.This thesis laid a foundation for building a classroom-based instructional mode through applying technology in enhancing young learners' concepts on mathematical space and graphics,which provided learners with a self-regulated learning platform. This study stressed the importance of improving information literacy for both teachers and learners.In the meantime,the study discussed educational implications for the application of this "Z+Z Intelligent Instructional Platform" in mathematical instruction in elementary schools as well as for other researchers in the same field.
