Along with the Standard of National Musical Curriculum being promulgated and put into practice by the National Ministry of Education, China's basic musical education has stepped into a new developing era in which the curriculum reform has caused the change of the traditional formative evaluation system into the pluralistic formative evaluation one. With the innovation of the new curriculum evaluation concept, the evaluation method of junior middle school musical curriculum has become diversified. With the adoption of the new curriculum, it has become very urgent to scientifically choose the appropriate evaluation method.This thesis deals with the musical evaluation of the new curriculum from a different perspective. Based on the foundation of Analyzing and investigating the domestic and international musical evaluation, the thesis conducts a research into the evaluation methods of the junior middle school musical curriculum, including junior students 'music learning evaluation methods and teachers' music teaching evaluation methods. This thesis includes three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. Introduction clarifies why we conduct such a research. The text is composed of three parts. The First part gives us a general idea of music teaching evaluation and comes up with the relevant principles and characteristics based on the reform compendium of national basic curriculum and the Standard of National Musical Curriculum. This part also analyses the present and future conditions, as well as the existing problems of music teaching evaluation. The second part talks about what students should do to adjust to the new evaluation methods under the Standard of National Musical Curriculum. In addition, several useful and practical music learning evaluation methods for junior middle schools students are listed.Part Three analyses why and how teachers should change their evaluation methods and attitudes, such as teachers' professional qualities, class teaching and research abilities. The conclusion part summarises the whole thesis and gives a positive attitude towards the evaluation systems in the thesis and finally it puts forward more high-demanding teaching evaluation methods.
