The teaching material diversification is a basic policy concerning the teaching material construction. It is also one of the important tasks in the new round of the basic education curriculum reform. How to improve the quality of the teaching material relies on the evaluation.This paper observes the features and problems based on an analysis and evaluation of "History and Society" for the seventh grade by the People's Education Press. Data from the new teaching material experimental area are used in the study.The first chapter introduces the background of the study and the study methods. A summary of the related literature is also carried out.In the second chapter, a comprehensive analysis is made on the difficulty of the teaching material, the writing readability, typesetting of pictures and articles as well as columns. Students and teachers'views on the teaching materials are introduced.In Chapters Three and Four, some suggestions are put forward on the layout and presentation of the teaching materials. And from the region difference, the life geography, and a comprehensive study, the paper explores the integrity of the teaching material. Another analysis on the content of integrated subject is made based on the relationship between the natural condition and the historical development of the society.
