The goal of Art education is creativity. Through children playing the percussion instrument, the author finds that they are lacking the ability to play it creatively. The author takes the bask idea "the scaffording instruction" and focuses on how to cultivate children's creative performance ability by the action research with the cooperative teacher.The research has gone through three phrases: First how to give children the opportunity to explore ; Then how to lead them in cultivating the experience about creative performance in the course of exploration; Lastly how to develop children's creativity in group work.In the reasch ,we find two main factors about the development of children's creative performance ability : First, Children should have the opportunity to explore by themselves so they can fully develop with the teachers' help. Second, the proper scaffolding to children must be based on the assessment which helps the teacher to determine children's Zone of proximal Development and to be aware of children's characteristics of the learning process. However, assessment requires definite view points and different levels within a subject field.
