The professional development of a teacher is the prime issue of the new curriculum reform. The essential of the Chinese curriculum reform is the shift of Chinese curriculum paradigm. Under this background, a teacher of Chinese is faced with the mission of education philosophy updating and teacher's character shift. The embarrassment of Chinese education and the figure crisis of a teacher of Chinese are the current status of the professional development of a teacher of Chinese. Social environment, given event, OJT, job environment, specialty organization, etc. are the exterior factors affecting the professional development of a teacher of Chinese; while the occupational spirit and ideality, self-determined consciousness and competence, case study and successful reference are the interior factors. The curriculum reform puts forward the timely requirement for a teacher of Chinese on knowledge, practice, contemplation, etc. A teacher of Chinese shall grasp firmly the humanism spirit and self-determined development, which are the core and essence for the professional development, and grope for the approach fit for the professional development of himself. As a feasible approach for the professional development of a teacher of Chinese, the practice value of community of development, the main content of which is extensive reading, lesson preparation on net, education note, scientific research paper, and narration study, is shown in the aspects of accelerating the professional development of the individual, helping the community to develop together. The action mode of the community of development includes the forum participation, forming mutual-action, self-diagnosis, intensifying the self-contemplation, theme construction, theory grasp, topic drive, being able to study, dissertation class, site diagnosis and other interlocking sectors, and file evaluation is an effective method for evaluation.
