Hundred years' policy based on education;while the education policy based on teachers.The high quality gym teacher team is the prerequisite for the development of education reform,the professional growth of teachers is the fundamental to improve the professional quality of teachers,and it is the objective requirement of teacher education development in our country.The new curriculum reform put forward some relevant requirements on the amount and quality of teachers,especially the quality requirements of teachers.The quality of gym teachers is the key of cultivating socialist modernization successors and the success of physical education reform.Therefore,the research on the professional growth of gym teachers is inevitable.The research of this paper is the professional development of county gym teachers in Tianshui junior school.Research subjects are the 168 country gym teachers from 56 junior schools in two districts and five counties of Tianshui.The author used literature analysis,questionnaire survey,interview,logical analysis and mathematical statistics in this study to make the analysis and discussion of the current problems of gym teachers in Tianshui from their basic information,cognition of new curriculum reform and professional development,professional knowledge,professional ability,professional ethics,and proposed some countermeasures.Based on the paper,the conclusions are as follows:(1)The sex radio of male to female in Tianshui country schools is in serious imbalance.The school age of gym teachers is becoming normalization.Teachers' educational background structure is relatively reasonable and the distribution of professional title keeps basic balance,but the teachers with high professional titles are less.Teachers are mainly at young and non-professional gym teachers hold certain proportion in specialty structure aspect.(2)Gym teachers' understanding to new curriculum in country junior schools of Tianshui is relatively good,but they only stay inwardly and lack practical action,so the effect of new curriculum reformation is not remarkable and still new wine in an old bottle.And their cognition of professional development is still quite unclear.In the respect of the factors of promoting teachers' professional development,half of these teachers think professional knowledge and ability is more important than professional ethics.(3)Gym teachers' level of knowledge mastering is ok in Tianshui country junior schools.Gym teachers' educational knowledge is relatively good.Through the investigation,the author found that most gym teachers' application of modern information technology is not good,but they should use that skillfully.As a whole,gym teachers' professional knowledge mastering is ok but they still need to improve their professional knowledge and development in different ways.(4)Gym teachers' ability of teaching design,classroom organization and management,and teaching implementation is comparably stronger,but some teachers are still short of the capacity of teaching evaluation and scientific research and need improvement.Their attitude is instable,because the number of teachers who are keen on the job is obviously too small.Almost half of the teachers think that the influence of professional concept and ethics on development is little;Physical education teachers for physical education occupied phenomena: is occupied part of physical education(PE)teachers think doesn't matter,the other part is powerless against occupy;Ethics for the construction of the evaluation system is not perfect,some teachers' awareness of ethics evaluation.(5)Gym teachers' professional development from country junior school in Tianshui should be improved.The result shows that,16.25 percent of them never attended any professional training,and more than a half of schools did not get any related documents about training.The scope is very small as it only stay in the country.Most teachers think that the result is better if get any training.Also teachers' motivation of training is utilitarianism,and the training content paid too much attention on theory but less on practice.
