As a famous philosopher and educationist in America, John·Dewey wasthe founding father of Pragmatism education thought and one of the mostimportant influences in west modern educational history. The core subjectof Dewey's Pragmatism education thought is that education plays aprimary role to realize democracy. Taking the background of the times andthe academic starting point into consideration, the ideal social democraticsystem is a most important factor of Dewey's Pragmatism educationthought. In Dewey's opinion, democracy is his ideal society with whichmoral education in schools can come into being. According to Dewey, themoral education in schools is based on the democratic ideology, which runsthrough his school moral education thinking of a main line. Starting formDewey's critical thinking on the traditional school moral education, thethesis interprets the Dewey's school moral education thinking, whichincludes the end, process and way to implement of democratic schoolmoral education thinking. For the sake of extending it, this paper mainlyexpounds Dewey's school moral education thinking of the democraticvalues. In the explication, the paper carries on the dialectical analysis to theDewey's school moral education thought which includes bothenlightenment place and its deficiency, and it points out the significance ofDewey's thought on Chinese school moral education model.
