Dongda mosque, located in iaifeng, Henan province, enjoys a long history. There is an epigraph saying: "Dongda mosque was built in 1407. Standing in the southeast of the city, it is the very place for the followers to show their worship to the country." Being the center of inland Hui minority culture, it's the origin of Chinese wrestle, since Shen Yousan, a Hui minority in Niu Street of Beijing, brought the wrestle here in 1933. But this culture didn't last long, and declined in the 80s. However, there were lots of masters emerged during this short period, such as Ding Quanfu, Du Keqin, Bai Xiangchen, etc. who had won champions in national competitions, and taught wrestle as their career. Dongda mosque devoted magnificently in the spread and development of Chinese wrestle.This thesis did a thorough literature review of the relevant monographs and academic articles to discuss the importance of the historical study of Chinese wrestle in Dongda mosque. After a logical analysis of the materials, the author picks out the pseudo and preserves the truth, systematically reviews the development of the wrestle in Dongda mosque and gives it an objective evaluation. And the author also did some local visits and interviews to gather plentiful verbal materials. The spread and development of Chinese wrestle promoted the gymnastic prosperity in Henan province, and influenced the Chinese traditional culture. Through its devious development, the author concludes that Chinese wrestle has great advantages and potentials, but there is also some serious misleading here which need our attention. We should properly protect the Chinese wrestle and make a complete collection of it. The thesis also includes brief introductions of some masters in this field, with distinguished features of the Chinese wrestle in Dongda mosque as a supplement. The last part is the conclusion.
