| It is 100 years since modern basketball has been introduced into China. With the unremitting efforts made by Chinese basketball people and more than one century development, the overall level of Chinese basketball has been greatly improved and basketball has been one of Chinese most favorite things. Basketball World Championship and basketball matches in Olympic Games, two basketball games of the world highest level, may judge the basketball level of each country. Chinese Men's Basketball Team has made many successes in international competitions. It approached to the highest level and became one of world top teams for a time. Especially after Yao Ming, who is dubbed as the"Walking Great Wall", went to NBA, basketball professionals at home and abroad lay more expectation on overall level and competition performance of Chinese Men's Basketball Team. But in fact no substantial progress has been made for Chinese basketball team coming from a big population country.The performance of Chinese Men's Basketball Team is not satisfied in recent several international competitions. Compared with the top basketball teams, we still have a long way to go. Chinese Men's Basketball Team was at 11th place among 16 teams at 14th World Championship in 2002 and at 8th place at 27th Olympic Games in 2004. That is the best performance for Chinese men's basketball team. Compared with the performance at 2002 World Championship, the place of Chinese gets higher, but the score of each game declines greatly. In 2006, the 15th World Basketball Championship was held in Japan. Twenty-four basketball teams participated in this competition. All the top teams and most excellent basketball players, including many super stars in NBA and Europe, gathered in Japan. This was the basketball competition of highest level in the world. At this championship, the performance of Chinese team was not so good, only at 15th place.According to the performance of Chinese men's basketball team at this World Championship and compared with the occidental top teams, Chinese team falls behind not only in control of competition scene but also in technical statistics. The overall strength of this Chinese team is considered as highest by the outside world. We have world-class players and coach. But unfortunately, the overall strength has not been actually improved but declined on the contrary. At this World Championship, Chinese men's team failed to end up among the best eight teams. Such bad performance must arouse great attention of all of us. According to the analyzing statistics of score by the Chinese Men's Basketball Team at 15th World Championship, especially by the analyzing of the front-court rebound, steal, turnover and fast break, this thesis tries to find out the problems in scoring and makes further study to solve these problems. Some scientific and reasonable suggestions are also presented in this thesis which can be used as a reference for Chinese basketball team and the preparation for Beijing Olympic Games. After participating in the world competitions, now it is time to think carefully about the question how to improve the level and strength of our basketball team.By documentary datum methodology, video observational methodology, comparison methodology, expert visit methodology, mathematical statistics methodology and questionnaires methodology, this thesis studies and sums up statistical data of attacking score of Chinese team and its rivals. The result shows that: the regular pattern or score in Chinese Men's Basketball Team is two-point shot. According to the two-point shot percentage, Chinese team's two-point shot excessively relies on points in the paint. Perimeter players seldom make use of their teammates'cut to score. The methods of two-point offensive shot are relatively simplistic and two-point shots at different place are seriously unbalanced. We have too much fouls and are at a disadvantage upon steals. So our opponents have too many chances to make two-point shots and fast breaks. On the other hand, we make much less three-point shots compared with our opponents and our three-point shot percentage is low. We should make use of tactics coordination to create more chances to make more three-point shots. We must force our opponents to extend defense, so our interior players may have more chances to make attack. Meanwhile, our three-point shot percentage must be improved. Finally, our players occupy a dominant position to make foul shot. We must make the best of this superiority, especially using tactics based on our talent center, to strengthen our interior players'overwhelming power. Meanwhile, make more use of our opponent's foul to make foul shot. That may improve our competence to score during the competition. Of course, the methods to score must be diverse. |
