| Based upon questionnaire and survey, available documents, random interview, logical analysis and mathematical statistics, the dissertation made a survey and analysis on the current situation of the community sports in Lu'an Prefecture during the process of urbanization. The results show that with the advance of urbanization the city's population, economic and social environment and community construction have been developing increasingly with the following characteristics in general:1. The management system of the community sports has been reformed according to the process of urbanization. Now the community sports has its own grass roots, having broken through the self-closed setup of "An athletics" and showing the tendency of "An athletics for combine".2. Little investment on the community sports and unclear management of expenditure3. Insufficient investment on the sports installation and inefficient conformity of available sports facilities; improper operation and management.4. The sports guider of the community has a little quantity, low quality, less responsibilities, and is short of special knowledge.5. The community sports turn to massive sports.From the participation of the community dwellers in sports activities, the community sports in Lu'an Prefecture have the following features:1. The citizen of Lu'an City has a little understanding about national fitness program, which is far blow other cities in China. The purpose of taking part into sports is mainly for better healthiness and quick recovery form illness.2. sports population is above the national average with the rate of male greater than that of female. The graph of sports population takes a shape of a saddle with the change of its age.3. The body exercise usually takes place in the morning, dusk or evening. The number of those exercising in the morning increases with being older in age, while the number of those exercising in the evening decreases as they get old.4. There is certain discrepancy in the choice of different kinds of sports activities among different ganders and ages. The youth and the elderly would like to do sports together, and the wrinkly and the elderly prefer exercising alone. 5. The first six kinds of sports preferred are walking, jogging, playing badminton, cycling, playing chess and cards, and doing shadowboxing.6. The routine place of doing sports is the opening spaces at the public sports playground and residence. Then are the clearing in the woods near roads and the sports places in schools and institutes. Few choose to do sports near the greenbelt of residence or at home, and much fewer at the commercial places.7. The average sports expenditure of the community dwellers is below the national level, Different community has different consuming standard. There also exist the phenomena of inadequate support form the sports administrative and the distemperedness of sports management rule and law.The results also pointed out the factors of restricting the development of community sports in Lu'an city. There are economical conditions, social environment, policies and regulations, natural environment, cultural atmosphere and way of life.Directly against the above stated questions in the community sports in Lu'an Prefecture during the process of urbanization, the paper put forward that community sports should get the support from governmental systematically and financially; a second thought be given the development of it; the floating population due to urbanization be taken into consideration when expanding community sports; countermeasures and solutions be given to solve the imbalance of sports development. In all, the paper intends to produce the necessary reference for the development of community sports for the city of Lu'an and cities alike in the middle west of China. |
