Conflict between teachers and students is a common phenomenon in educational practice, which to some extent bothers establishment of the good relationship between teachers and students on the campus. This paper, aiming at the limitations in the present researches, by adopting interviews and questionnaires, attempts to have a good understanding of the current situation of conflict between students and teachers in middle schools in Nantong, including frequency of occurrence of conflicts between teachers and students, reasons resulting in the conflict, specific process of development of conflict between teachers and students, cognition of the meaning of the conflict between teachers and students, strategies in dealing with the conflict between teachers and students and so on. The analysis of the research demonstrates that it is relatively common for the existence of the conflict between teachers and students in middle schools in Nantong, and there are many factors resulting in the conflict, teachers and students take the negative attitude towards the conflict between teachers and students, and it is lacking in practical and artistic methods in dealing with conflict between teachers and students.Based upon this, the author first of all conducts an attribution analysis of the conflict between teachers and students in middle schools, believing that the reasons resulting in the conflict is multi-level, including teachers and students factors, family and school factors, the standard for talents selection in the society and education input of the state also have exerted a potential impact on occurrence of the conflict, which always work together to influence the relationship between teachers and students.Next, the author analyzes the positive significance of the conflict between teachers and students from dialectical perspective, and proposes that: from the level of philosophy, the conflict between teachers and students is self-negation and self-development in the interchange and interaction between teachers and students; from the level of education, the conflict between teachers and students is revival and regression of students' "criticism spirit" and "independence spirit"; from the level of psychology, the conflict between teachers and students is conducive to catharsis of negative emotions of both teachers and students and striking a psychological balance; from the level of management, the conflict between teachers and students is conducive to abolition of old rules and systems and establishment of new rules and systems.Lastly, the author puts forward corresponding strategies in dealing with the issue in the light of different conflicts. One is the rapid decompression strategy and timely solution strategy in dealing with the antagonistic conflict between students and teachers, and the second is the long-term efficiency response strategy in dealing with general conflicts between students and teachers.
