The 21th century is a knowledge-economy era. In such an age, knowledge has become the core element of production which makes it different from the capital-based industry society and the soil-based agriculture society, and also it is the key factor for the organization to advance its outstanding quality and rival superiority. The higher education institution is a knowledge-concentrated organization, where the most important assets are the teachers' knowledge which is the wisdom capital which Knowledge Management emphasizes. Knowledge Management is a vital weapon for the organizations and individuals to promote their quality and rival ability in the knowledge society, and thus they can cope with the challenge from the knowledge economy successfully through the weapon. In the same way, the application and research of the KM on teachers will be of great importance and meaning no matter for the development of the teachers' profession and quality and also for the promotion of the institution's efficiency and rival ability. But what makes us worried is that most institutions and teachers are ignorant of the theory of KM and KM on teachers. Therefore, firstly this thesis strives to summarize the basic theory of KM systemically, and then we put the emphasis on the research of KMS on teachers. To sum up, there are six main parts in this thesis. Chapter one is the introduction. In this part, we mainly argue the importance of this research. Some important questions such as the analysis of global existing research fruit and domestic research fruit, the reason for this research, the content of this research etc. are all answered in this chapter. Chapter two is the discussion of some related theories, including the basic theory about KM and the learning organization. Chapter three is about the research of KM on teachers, and also it's one of the most important parts of this study. Chapter four is the key part which proposes a frame of KMS on teachers. Chapter five is about the design of the knowledge map. And the last part, Chapter six, is the summary and expectation.
