Instructed by the physics methods and combining the present states of physics education in our country, we put forward the necessities and feasibilities of cultivating creativity. Furthermore, we probe this problem primarily by means of educational practice.This thesis consists of six parts. We introduce the research backgrounds, research contents as well as research meanings of cultivating creativity in the first part. In the following part, we explain the implications of creativity briefly and define the creativity of senior middle school students. Then we introduce the characteristics of middle school students' creativity. In part three, we introduce the physics methods briefly. We summarize some basic methods of creativity used by physicists. Moreover, we confine the physics methods by taking account of senior middle school educational contents and senior middle school students' age. Based on the physics methods, we discuss the teaching principles and educational targets of cultivating creativity in part four. In the fifth part, we discuss models of cultivating creativity, teaching contents as well as the piths of operation in the course of physics teaching creativity. In the last part, we introduce the process of educational practice cultivating creativity of senior middle students basing on the physics methods in great details.After a semester's education practice and analyzing the test results of students, we conclude that it is feasible to cultivate students' creativity in physics teaching. However, at the same time we point out it is a complex and a long-term task.
