The affective factors have been noticed more and more since last ten years. But most of the research focuses on how to apply the affective factor in the teaching process, but not in the textbooks, especially in science textbooks. But I feel strongly that American chemistry textbooks are written vividly to inspire the students' interests for learning and exploring chemistry. So, I choose to analyze the affective factors of American chemistry textbooks of secondary school. I studied American chemistry textbooks' affective factors by analyzing how the American textbooks motivate the student; how the American textbooks create the opportunities for the students to taste success; and how the textbooks nurture students' sentiment. Under the help of Ms. Bao, Xia and Ms. Li, Wei Hua, I also carry out my further research in the Xuhui high school. And I used the methods of doing controlled experiment and interview. From the experiment of the research, I found that the American textbooks do contains more affective factors and the students show great interests for it and it also helps the students form some positive passion for learning chemistry.I hope that my research will bring a new fields of vision for the subject of Affective Education and make it more complete and perfect. I also hope that it will provide a reference for the chemistry educators, especially the textbook editors to produce more good chemistry textbooks for the students to learn well and learn happily.
