The country is vitalized through education and education is vitalized through teachers.Teachers not only give students knowledge but also exert a subtle and deep influence on students' personality formation.The essay finds the differences in mental health between teachers in the urban and rural areas on the base of prophase study. The factors which affect mental health of teachers in rural areas and also in the rural areas in Changping District of Beijing are somatization disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, depression, hostility and so on.Analysing the statistic data and studying the differences between sex, age, working environment of teachers and tension resources(students condition, employment deal, senior high school entrance test, working environment and working time,etc), I think apart from the common cause of mental health of teachers in urban and rural areas there are also some prominent differences in existence of conflict, lack of training, region difference, lack of system, individual factors between teachers in urban and rural areas. Accordingly, the essay gives some advice on solving the problems of teachers mental health. First, as for social system or system building, leaders of all level should think much of mental health of teachers. Mental health training should be held regularly. Second, for society-suporting system, all the society should care and respect teachers, thus teachers will see their own values and think they themselves blong to a reciprocal and intercoursing social network., which is important for teachers to improve their mental health level. Third, schools should create a better personal, working, mental environment for the teachers' development: supplying catharsis concourse, lightening deposit of bad emotion, caring teachers' health, arranging health checkup regularly.And moreover, in order to create better working environment, traditional rigidizing evaluating system and managing mode. Lastly, teachers should do their best to improve skills to cope with tension, including self-adjusting, relaxation exercise, mastering the skills of time management, realizing cognition-rebuilding strategy, reflecting frequently and so on.
