As the scale of college recruiting students increases substantially with recent years, especially since the year of 2003 which is the first year after the enlarging recruit for the students graduating from colleges, the number of graduates from colleges and universities raises with years by a wide margin. It has inducing little optimism to the situation of employment increasingly. Concerning the economic majors in Tianjin, according to the statistic by Tianjin Higher Education Commission, up to Apr.2003, Nankai University, Tianjin Normal University, Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Tianjin University of Science &Technology, Tianjin Agricultural University, Tianjin University of Commerce, Tianjin Polytechnic University, Tianjin University of Technology,etc have established the economic majors and the number of undergraduates with these majors raises year by year, therefore, the problem of employment after graduation appears serious more and more. The thesis analyzes and evaluates the employment of undergraduates in Tianjin with economic majors in recent years by means of SWOT. Then on the basis of describing the characteristic of demand on every economic major and referring to the characteristic of personnel training mode in western countries, The thesis analyzes the gap between the present personnel training mode of economic majors in higher education and demand in society. Next, the thesis expounds the important factors effecting employment. At last, the thesis provides the countermeasures concerning personnel training mode in higher education, guide of employment and college students respectively. First, the university or college with economic majors should constitute the practical and compound education mode including the education aim, the basic structure of talent cultivation and teaching mode. Second, the employment guidance should include of object, content, system and ensurence. At last, the graduates with economic majors can improve their competition ability through taking part in the level test or vocational qualification exams and setting down scientific and proper professional plan.
