Developing high vocational education is very important to the popularization ofhigh education, the improvement of the quality of the country, the perfecting of theframework of high education and the increase of educational industry economy aswell as to the socialist constructional modernization. And to succeed in developing thevocational education, researches and reforms must be carried out constantly with thechanging situation. The major characteristic of high vocational teaching is thecombination of teaching and practicing, so practicing training or teaching is the key tothe successful reform of high vocational education. It also concerns whether a studentwe turn out could meet the requirements of the society, whether they could meet theemployment challenges and have a successful career, and it also determines the futuredevelopment of the high vocational education.In view of the development of vocational education in the world, some models,such as CBE in Canada, TAPE in Australia, German's Two-ways System, are allcharacterized by practicing training. However, any successful teaching and trainingmodel in other country does not necessarily work in China because of differentregional situation. Thus, we should, on the basis of each collage's present conditions,by introducing all ways and means from home and abroad, form a practicing teachingor training system with distinctive characteristics. Based on Shandong VocationalAnimal Science and Veterinary College's present conditions, high vocationalpracticing training and teaching is studied in this thesis. This thesis consists of three parts:1. A review of the literature concerned practicing training or teaching of highvocational educational and a general introduction of vocational education from fouraspects: its intension, functions, characteristics and forms.2. Taking Shandong Vocational Animal Science and Veterinary College as anexample, the current situation of practicing training or teaching in China wasgenerally discussed and my point of view of the problems that still exists wasproposed. Seven points of them are:a. Practicing training or teaching remains to be stressedb. The facilities of practicing training or teaching should be strengthenedc. The quality of the faculty must be further improvedd. The management of practicing training or teaching needs improvement.e. The subjective functions of the entities concerned are weakf. Practicing planning, its contents and organization need to be regulated andcoordinatedg. An independent, complete and scientific appraisal system of teachingpracticing training needs to be established.3. What Shandong Vocational Animal Science and Veterinary College has doneover the past years in practicing training or teaching.a. By large-scale propaganda and studying the documents concerned, anatmosphere of emphasizing practicing training and teaching has been formed in thecollege, so educators' ideas have changed and come to consensus.b. Improving conditions of practicing training or teaching by setting up students'training bases inside and outside of campus.c. Inviting experts in vocational education, engineers or technicians to givelectures to students, and meantime, we send young faculty members to practice onfarms or in firms to improve their skillfulness. We also encourage teachers to furthertheir study for higher degree and to do researches on high vocational education,increase the members of faculty that hold more than one post, require them to haveacademic and technical titles at the same time.d. Strengthening the management of practicing training or teaching.e. Combining teaching with production.f. Reforming the content and methods of practicing training or teaching.g. Enhancing inspection, check and appraisal of the training and teaching processes.
