| The estimation of teachers was born along the education .However the officialteachers' evaluation system was not produced until the 50's in 20 centuries. Under theinfluence of scientific substantial evidence and people's understandings of theteachers' evaluation are always one-sided. They emphasize quantity andunderestimate quality. Traditional teachers' evaluation, a kind of final estimation, paymuch attention to the results, while neglecting the processes. The evaluation standardis also relatively single. Under the present education on purpose to take exams,student's results and the proportion of students entering schools of a higher gradeexcessively are paid great attention. Meanwhile teachers are treated as appraisalobjects. The goals of the organization are primarily considered, and little attention ispaid to the individual teacher's demand. Thus, it is hard to stimulate teachers'enthusiasm, It even makes teachers boycott, knowingly or not knowingly. In recentyears, people start re-examining the estimation of teachers. The significance of theestimation of teachers is given complete attention. Under the new curriculum reform,the estimation of teachers becomes a hot research topic day by day. However, taking awide view of this research, some are from one angle of view, which make theelaboration one-sided;others use the macro theory view to estimate teachers, whichlacks the practice, especially the lack of estimation to the different discipline teachers.In other words, the theories of researching teachers' estimation are still not verymature. Therefore, the further thorough study theoretically is needed badly, moreoverthe discipline should be subdivided, and study should be made respectively fordifferent discipline teachers.The language education in our country has pointed out the important academicsposition of a language in the foundational education, so the language teachers havethe indisputable important position in the educational development. That is the meansof improving the language teachers' quality have become a very significant subject tobe study. This paper will put forward a reasonable principle to evaluate the languageteachers based on re-examining the traditional teachers' evaluation, to make thecontent of estimation and the way of it is consistent with the teaching goals of the newcurriculum. The research will also be carried out from two aspects: language teachers'developing estimation theoretically and practically in order to make the formingtheory on the teachers' estimation perfect and to present the constructive suggestionsto the practice of teachers' estimation.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part or introduction is theconception of the paper. The main reason of the long-term low efficiency in thelanguage teaching effect is the language teachers' deficiencies. The main reasonwhich caused it is the weakness of the present teachers' estimation system. Therefore,the language teachers' estimation system should be reconstructed by using teachers'developing estimation, which is meaningful for both the teachers' improvement andthe language education for all-round development. The second part deals with thecharacteristic and the flaw. The characteristic of the present teachers' estimation ismainly discussed and the main flaw is pointed out on purpose to let people know theharm of the present teachers' estimation to the education for all-round development.Thus, it must be reformed, to construct a scientific teachers' estimation system. Thethird part is concerned with the basic idea and theory bases of developing teachers'estimation. This part deals with the basic idea and connotation and shows that therationality of its connotation comes from the multi-dimension theory. The fourth partdiscusses the basic connotation and vital significance of developing estimation of thelanguage teachers. It logically defines the connotation of developing estimation of thelanguage teachers in details on the basis of the third part, and points out the vitalsignificance of teachers' developing estimation from the aspect of both teachers'improvement and the language education for all-round development. The last partdiscusses the strategies of the language teachers' developing estimation. This part, asthe key and difficult point, is the main achievement of the research. It constructed thetarget system of the language teachers' developing estimation which suits the newcurriculum reform, and meanwhile, gave the full explanation to the utilization of theappraisal method and the explanation of the appraisal result. |
