With a new round of standard reform for the basic education, through theresearch on the relative theories on interpersonal relationships, especially theteacher-student relationship, a notion comes to spread before us: teachers andstudents are both subjects of the teaching procedure, individual and equal inpersonality. Ideal Chinese teaching in deed should form a field of harmony. Theoccurrence of the field and the lasting influence of beauty combine into a fieldeffect. The supporting factor in the field effect is emotions, i.e. the harmoniouspersonal relationships between teachers and students, which include equality,mutual understanding, respect and appreciation. Thus the traditional teaching andlearning will give way to the mutual teaching-learning, so as to form a real learningintegrity. In the integrity students are centered, individuals stand out and throughinteraction, mutual communication, influence and completion, understandingbetween teachers and students is shared and harmony is achieved.To start with, according to the qulity and character of Chinese teaching, theessay analyzes the maintenance of the Chinese teaching in middle schools and thespecial requirements in the teacher-student relationships and points out the themeof appealing to harmony. In the second chapter the essay illustrates some idealmodes of the harmonious teacher-student relationships in Chinese teaching, inwhich Mutual Teaching and Interactive Learning are emphasized. In the thirdchapter, from the aspects of designing, practicing and development, the essayexplores how to construct the harmony in Chinese teaching, including someproblems that require special attention.The procedure of Chinese teaching is an emotional exchange betweenteachers and students, students and texts and students and students. This is themajor factor in which Chinese is different from other subjects, especially science.Science also needs good teacher-student relationships, but to Chinese teaching, ahigher standard is required and sought, i.e. the harmony between hearts, the beautyamong lives. In a harmonious atmosphere between teachers and students on beautythe Chinese teaching in middles schools will step into a new stage.
