It is important to design proper questions in geography classroom teaching .The applied characteristic of geography decides that the design of questions is especially outstanding, which has a direct effect on classroom teaching and good questions can help students acquire knowledge from teachers, and at the same time build harmonious relationship between them.This article conbines my several years' teaching experience and uses the experience of other colleapues for reference. After doing plenty of researches in different school , classes and even individual students,I draw a conclusion in this article in the hope of applying the of questions to the teaching process of geography, so as to improve teaching quality.This article first expounds the meaning and principle of design of questions, and then discusses the design of questions in the links of teaching process. It contains: some examples and things to be noticed when designing questions; how to develop all sorts of thinking competence throng the design of questions ,such as diverging , conversing , analytical, associating and synthetical thingking competence .At the end of the article ,several requirements of the design of questions are mentioned.Students are sure to acquire more knowledge in the process of thinking and probing, so long as teachers set proper and thought—provoking questions . Thus, their thinking competence can be kindled, and they can turn passive learning into initiative learning.
