With the development of economy and culture, great changes have taken place in human disease spectrum, population structure, psychological state, health concept and the natural and social environment. The traditional biomedical mode, as a result, has been replaced by the biology-psychology-sociology mode. These changes pose great challenges to medical education: medical graduates should be equipped with not only professional skills and a comprehensive knowledge of medical sciences, humanities, and social sciences, but also good moral qualities. Therefore, moral education will play a key role in successful medical education reform. This thesis discusses the definition of moral education in medical schools, points out the problems in medical moral education and their causes, and suggests the following approaches to achieve successful moral education of medical students: updating the concept of quality-oriented education of medical students, continually perfecting the curriculum, improving teaching quality, offering medical students more moral and emotional experiences in medical practice, optimizing the after-class environment.
