Agricultural Colleges, Agricultural Research Knowledge Management And Knowledge Management System

Knowledge management is one of new management patterns in era of knowledge economy. Knowledge management system is a basis on which knowledge management is put into practice. Knowledge management and Knowledge management system are aimed at implementing knowledge share, knowledge application and knowledge innovation.Grounded on the theory of knowledge management and knowledge management system described in the previous two chapters, this paper analyzes characteristics, roles, tasks and problems of the agricultural science research in an agricultural university, and suggests that knowledge management not only greatly promotes the agricultural science research but also fulfils three tasks of knowledge creation, knowledge dissemination and service to society. The thesis discusses the agricultural science research knowledge management system (ASRKMS) in an agricultural university, which impacts on the agricultural science research, education and extension. The ASRKMS can be constructed by choosing proper knowledge management components and tools upon an Intranet-based portal, so that a sharable, communicative and cooperative knowledge platform is provided for the agricultural research team. Last, in a case study, ARKM and ARKMS are applied to a research institution in agricultural university. This paper also explores some function modules and components of an agricultural research knowledge management system.
