Faced with the increasingly severe international competition and the rigorous challenge of such global problems as population, resources and environment in the 21st century , the new era of knowledge economy, people in many countries are trying to improve teenagers' scientific literacy and environmental awareness through education . In order to comply with the international situation andrealize the strategic objective that our revitalizes the nation through science and education, the new Standard of Geography Curriculum for middle school states clearly that the scientific literacy of geography and environmental awareness should be cultivated.This thesis, through theory analysis and practice, argues the necessity, feasibility, and concrete implementation tactics of the intergration of middle school education of environment and scientific literacy of geography. It also attempts to merge the two type of eduction organically in geographical eduction so as to help students to form the fine scientific quality of geography and establish the systematic idea of the earth and sustainable development idea.The article is divided into six parts, the first three parts forth the theoretical basis of integration of middle school education of environment and scientific literacy of geography in the light of the intrinsic connection between the tow kinds of education. Firstly,after sketching the theory of environmental education, the author defines the connotation of scientific literacy of geography according to the relevant statements of the scholars home and abroad, and elaborates the development and importance of the education of scientific literacy of geography in and out of Cnina.
