In recent years, with the rapid development of international economy and education, the education reform has been focused on course reform. The domestic reform of preliminary courses is now in the trial process and will be carried out nationwide. The reform of vocational courses has been a serious problem for those vocational education departments. The present paper mainly deals with the present situation of national forestry industry , the present teaching situation of vocational forestry schools, and the analysis of existing problems, based on the basic theory of vocational education. Taking forestry as an example, it also offers an overall discussion about the original cultivation target , course system, content of teaching, teaching pattern, and teaching methodology, which is based on the advanced thoughts, theory and experience of vocational education of both domestic and foreign countries. With the emphasis on the content of the teaching reform, the paper is intended to promote the development of our vocational forestry education, and to put forward a course system which can satisfy the needs for vocational talents of the development of forestry industry of the 21st century.
