Guangzhou, Shenzhen Extreme Sports (b3 Street Project) Status And Development Trend Study

This thesis, first defines the extreme sports from the perspective of logics, then, from the perspective of sociology, makes a comparative analysis between the social background in America in 1960s and the one in Guangzhou and Shenzhen in 1990s, in which the extreme sports comes into being, and thus concludes the feature of extreme sports in the later one. Again, through a pragmatic approach, it makes a descriptive research on this kind of sports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen (B 3 street item). And thus this thesis concludes that the extreme sports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen is from a preliminary period to a gradual organized and professional one; that its development speed surpasses the pace of local economic development, the factor from economy and environment which becomes one of the main factors imposing a restriction on extreme sports development; and that its spirit is mainly characterized by recreation oriented freedom and innovation. Compared with the strong rebellion feature of American extreme sports in 1960s, it takes a relatively weak rebellion look, and the participants as a whole a socially healthy and positive group; At last, this thesis, from the perspective of globalization of extreme sports and of development trend in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and the general law for development of culture for youth, concludes that the extreme sports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen will gradually become closer to the leading sports.
