Evaluation and engagement of professional titles is significant to the reform of personnel system in universities. Further study in this aspect is required not only for universities to deepen their reformation of personnel system, but also for combining the theory of educational management and the development of its practice. In this thesis, the author comprehensively connected the theory about educational management with on-the-spot investigation and systematically researched questions related to evaluation and engagement of university teachers' professional titles. The author aimed at presenting the reform and development of university professional titles in our country since the foundation of the state and especially after the reform-and-open policy, so as to leave clear impression on the history of the reform and lead to the thought of comprehensive reform of inner management system in Chinese universities.This thesis firstly expressed the concept related to evaluation and engagement of professional titles and recalled its historical course. On this basis, the author has given a detailed introduction about the evaluation and engagement of profession titles and summarized its characteristics as well. In the third part the author introduced and commented professional titles evaluation and engagement modes both within the country and abroad and also provided a consultable train of thought for the further discussion. Since the forth part, the author took college A as an case study object, and collected the views of teachers and related working staff on different sides in the forms of questionnaire and interview. Following that, the author carried out discussion about current evaluation and engagement work and strived to establish a new mode by thinking on the reverse side. In the last part, from the view of management of personnel resource and associated with the spirit of the meeting on State Talent Management Work, the author analyzed the necessity and feasibility of university professional titles reformation and revealed the tactics on its reform.
