Nowdays, "the teacher as researcher" has already become the synonym of professional development of teachers , and encouraging the teachers to be engaged in research has got widespread emphasized when they carry out the education and teaching. But, what the present study ability level of the physical teachers in high school of our country? The result of the beforehand questionnaire shows that the ability of education and teaching of most high school teachers reaches a plateau. How the plateau phenomenon happened? What are the teachers' reactions when they faced the plateau phenomenon? What measures do they take and what the effects of the measures? How can they break through the plateau phenomenon? What are the deeper and essential factors that influence the formation of the study ability? What kind of quality should a researching teacher has? All the questions should been deeply researched.The study adopts qualitative research method, and along two routes unfolds. One route takes two teachers who are staying on plateau phenomenon as objects, investigates and records their formation course of the education and teaching study ability, and collect the full and accurate material of the change of their ability. The other rout unfolds around me, record the change of my ability and my feelings during the cooperation course.The study deeply analyses the collected material, take three periods of "formation of the plateau phenomenon" and " consciousness of the plateau phenomenon" and "breakthrough of the plateau phenomenon" as subjects, describes the cases of the objects, analyses the cause of the formation of the plateau phenomenon , the consciousness and measures and the action effects, the conception and behavior conversion. At the same time describes the growing experience of my research ability. Therefore conclude- the main factors of influencing the high school teachers' study ability and the core quality that a researching teacher should have, and puts forward some valuable advices.
