With Internet's emergence and its drastic development, more and more college students have become the user of this new media, pushing higher education institutes to the frontier of a networked society. Internet provides the college students with a brand new platform to explore the world they live in. It generates vision-broaden shortcut, socialization process acceleration, efficient information access as well as a modernized means of higher education administration. However, with the convenience we enjoy, Internet brings more challenge both for the object (the college students) and the subject (the administrative staff) of higher education administration. It has become an emergency for universities and colleges to work out specific strategies in this respect. The author is a practitioner in higher education administration for almost 10 years. With the actual experience of Internet confrontation growing day by day, he understands very well the theoretical and practical significance of the research in "Administration Revolution in Internet Time". The main purpose of this thesis is to put forward some constructive ideas to make higher education administration operation more effective with definite target in view and under scientific guidance. It analyses and emphasizes the opportunity and challenge Internet brings to college students and the corresponding strategies should be applied to avoid certain negative influences. The thesis chiefly discusses the questions concerning "Why higher education administration should be networked?", "How to get into Internet?", etc. Its logic sequence is as follows: description of the current Internet development situation, analysis of the consequences that Internet brings to higher education administration, and the exploration of counter-measures in the most tact-demanding aspects. Structurally, the thesis consists of three parts. The first part is Internet and its development with general introduction of Internet's concept, its burgeoning expansion, and the dramatic change it causes to human life. The author has launched surveys of Internet development in China and drew the conclusion that higher education institutes are at the frontier of a networked society. Meanwhile, the thesis indicates the seven characteristics of Internet, namely simulative, information abundance, interactive, timely, sharable, and uncontrollable. The second part is the analysis of Internet's positive and negative effects on the basis of university reality. On the one hand, with the emergence of Internet, it sheds light on the students, the administrators and the communication between the two. 1.From the perspective of the college students, Internet's development updates and changes their mode of thinking, study and living. The thesis verifies this view point from the fact that students' concept of fair play, independence, democracy, innovation, open-mind spirit and efficiency is highly enhanced. 2.Internet development facilitates a better communication between the college students and administrators in time. It changes the way students used to study and read, widens their channel to make friends, and promotes the efficiency of job-hunting. 3.Internet development makes higher education administration more efficient and attractive. On the other hand, Internet also confronts higher education administration with various challenges, which lie in: 1.For the students, it influences their academic performance, view for life, physiology and psychology status.2.For the administrators, it influences their authority in administration, current administrative method, administrative information sources, and their power of control. The third part brings up pinpointed applicable counter measures according to the specialized characteristics of higher education administration operation in Internet time. 1.It briefly verifies and explains why higher education administration should get into the network from the aspects of its object nature, long-term goals and...
