This essay includes four sections. The first section states the great significance of building students' ability of self-educating from the demands of the intellectual economy' s days to a qualified personnel and the demands of teaching reform of middle school biology teaching for qualities education.The second section analyses and summarizes several major points in the theory of students' ability of self-educating biology, such as the definition of ability of self-educating, the psychological structure, the goal of building the ability of self-educating and the factors influencing the formation of the ability.The third section is the key point. This part, based on the analysis of the goal of building the ability of self-educating and the factors which influence the formation of it, linking the writer' s teaching practice, inquires hi details into the means and tactics of building the students' ability of biology self-educating in biology teaching, hi my opinion, class teaching is the most important realm for carrying out quality teaching, and the way of building students' ability of self-educating. Under the instruction of the idea of students-centered class teaching, found the classroom teaching format which is suited to build students' ability of self-educating. When making a teaching plan, emphasize the plan of unit teaching, and make students grasp the basic learning method about biology.On the base of it, build students' ability of learning tactfully, and develop students' level of self-inspecting during the process of learning. At the same time, pay special attention to activity class of biology and build students' ability of research into biology through starting small subjects discussion; organize extracurricular activity of reading about special subjects to develop students' ability of collecting and handling out-class scientific information of biology.The fourth section is about some difficult points of the essay. The writer has done some research into evaluating students' self-educating ability, and put forward the principle and system about evaluating students' self-educating ability of biology.
