Under the traditional maths teaching pattern, teachers always require students to learn the subject at the same starting point and arrived at the same finishing line. They develop their teaching under the same teaching target, and the direction of the same methodology, and at the same speed.This method, in which teaching is centered on teachers in spite of variations of students, makes many students lose interest in learning maths, and decreases some students' enthusiasm and creativeness. So the phenomenon of variations in learning maths will be remarkable gradually and influential in the development of capabilities in maths. Among the variations of maths capabilities, the most common is the sexual difference in learning maths.This paper investigates the depth, width and criticism of maths thinking, seeing that senior middle school boys and girls are different in maths capabilities. There are no distinctive differences between boys and girls of senior middle school in depth and criticism of maths thinking, although boys are better on the whole, however, in width of maths thinking, the difference is distinguishable .The differences result from all kinds of causes. But generally speaking, the main causes are as follows: First, the variation in physiology, including cerebrum formation and influence of puberty. Second, the variation of non-intelligence factors, which are shown in motives for success, interests, characters and self-confidence, the differences of which result in the various development of maths thinking quality. Third, the variation in cognition style, and the last variation is about the society circumstances, such as the influence from parents and families, different attitude of teachers towards boys and girls, different requirement and different comment. In the investigation, we find of all the causes that influence the development of thinking quality of male and female, the non-intelligence of factors play an important role. The attitude of teachers to boys and girls and their comment accelerate the variation in maths thinking quality.Referring to those causes, if we want to diminish the variation of sexual difference in maths learning, first teachers need to change their opinions about education, and then the consciousness of sex which may be expressed unconsciously. Next maths teachers should offer girls who are in a passive position more chances, help them to strive for success and be successful, and develop their interests and self-confidence in learning maths. Teachers should also guide the students, especiallygirls, to improve their ability of self-teaching. At the same time, we recommend that in maths class teaching, teachers should follow the rules that reveal maths thinking process and thinking methods, because the development and exercise of thinking ability are reflected in the teaching process. It's important for the development of the students' maths thinking quality to reveal the process of maths knowledge's happening and forming. The process of showing the beginning and forming of maths knowledge in class teaching, the process of teachers' thinking. So we believe the basic rule of maths teaching is to reveal the maths thinking process.Maths thinking method links all kinds of information and from which students can acquire knowledge. It is more abstract and general, also it is more stable and used more widely than maths knowledge. It can make students understand knowledge thoroughly and students will benefit from it all life long. So the teaching rule of adding maths thinking method is of great importance because people emphasize that we should teach the students how to learn.The main form and working process of maths thinking are maths conception, judgment and inference, and conception is the centre and base of thinking activity. So the quality of maths conception teaching can influence the development of students' maths thinking quality directly and the development of their maths thinking capabilities.
