Multicultural education shows the importance of allowing a variety of cultures to influence the educational system. This in turn causes us to reconsider the motives and objectives of the education of the majority. By researching the relationship between the minority cultures and culture of the majority, we can seek through education to improve the life of the minorities, as well as to develop a pedagogy tailored to meet their needs. The research on multicultural education is having profound effects on China's minority education. This thesis describes Canada's multicultural education, particularly the Native American education and stresses the inspiration for China's minority education.
