The main purpose of this study is to examine the possibility andapproach on parents' participation in schooling administrative activitiesin Macau. This study demonstrates the history of parents' participation,analyzes the factors handicapping parents' participation and presentssuggestions for the development on parents' participation in schoolingadministrative activities.The study reviews the definition of parents' participation, the origin andthe development of parents' participation in both domestic and overseasregions through literature.The study reveals that the negative sides of the personal opinion, theschool planning, the administrative procedures, the educational policy,the parents' ability, the reforming ability and the atmosphere of schoolare the factors handicapping parents' participation in schooling throughinterviews.Based on the study, the author presents recommendations for theeducational administration, school administrator, teachers and parents onparents' participation:1. Renewing the mental attitude of school administrator, teachers and parents.2. Completing the administrative procedures.3. Reforming the social culture.
