| AbstractInstructed by Deng (iaoping's Theory, this thesis makes a thorough inquiry into both the challenge that Chinese higher education of teachers is facing in the new historical period and the opportunity that it is facing in recent development. By making use of related subjects such as pedagogy, the thesis analyze from several aspects-the position, function, nature and task of Chinese higher education of teachers; the reform and development of fundamental education; socialist market economy; new technological revolution and social information ?aliznation; the reform of higher education and the system of graduates?employment; and the reform of international teacher-training. In this thesis, first, several problems in present higher education of teachers are studied: wrongly-defined goal of education, out-of-date teaching material, indistinct specialty of the education of teachers, shallow study of pedagogical theory, and the serious tendency toward exam-oriented education and entrance-oriented education. And then the reformatory measures for Chinese higher education of teachers are put forward: to set up new goals and emphasize the superiority and characteristics; to form new concepts and promote the teaching reform in normal universities; to improve the ranks of qualified teachers for quality education; to put the study of education to a more distinct position; to strengthen the moral education to prospective teachers; to achieve the unity of pre-employment education and on-the-job training; to establish a new administrative system of higher education of teachers; and improve the quality of the overall efficiency of schools. In this thesis, the difficult point is the challenge and opportunity that Chinese higher education of teachers in facing in the 21St century, and the focal point is the discussion of the reformatory measures of higher education of teachers. And the author hopes that the discussion raised in this thesis can make some contribution to the study, reform and development of Chinese higher education of teachers. |
