The Negative Influence Of Pragmatism On Contemporary College Students And The Countermeasures

With comprehensive and further development of reform and open, foreign social ideological trend and cultural concept are poured in our country. On the one hand, college students are shrewd and receptive to new ideas and new concepts. On the other hand, some students blindly accept social ideological trend without discrimination, their ideal faith become weak, and they are lack of spiritual beliefs. At the same time it makes the Marxist leading position under threat and shaken. On the whole, foreign social ideological trend impacts on our country college students’ ideology on two aspects. On the bright side, college students have access to various theories, broadening their horizons; on the bad side, negative effects have great harm. Relying on its own characteristic, Pragmatism is widely spread, producing great influence. So it is important to research on the influence of pragmatism to college students. It is higher education’s responsibility to cultivate successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics. This paper explores the influence of Pragmatism on college students’ studies, take specific measures to change current situation. In order to improve students’ quality and enhance their immunity, it is urgent to increase the socialist core values education, make students establish firm ideals and beliefs, deepen students’ Marxist theoretical foundation, and create a good educational environment.
