Performance Pay reform is a very important part of the salary system reform in public institutions of China. Since Jan 1st,2010, Performance Pay system has been carried out in universities and made some achievements. Universities of nationalities as a significant part of universities of inland China have taken a variety of reform measures of Performance Pay and gradually established a salary system which can keep up with the trend of the times and are suitable for the development of universities based on learning experiences of other universities and their own past.This thesis firstly makes a review of the history and the present, the exploration and the practice of Performance Pay reforms in some representative universities of nationalities directly under the state ethnic affairs commission. Furthermore, it makes an analysis and evaluation about Performance Pay reforms in universities of nationalities with the research methods including document research, case study, comparative analysis and system analysis, holding that closely related to the purposes and missions of their running of universities their reforms have formed various modes of distribution, have standardized allocation system of universities of nationalities, have highlighted the main roles of teachers and students in Performance Pay reforms and have showed their local characteristics. Generally speaking, Performance Pay reforms in those representative universities of nationalities have got pretty good effect, having formed a flexible allocation system with strong adaptability and promoted the internal management system reform and fully aroused the enthusiasm of the staff as well. However, there also exist some problems, such as the design of Performance Pay system cannot keep up with the times, inspection appraisal system is not scientific and complete, crucial problems have not been resolved satisfactorily, secondary distribution reform is insufficient, coordination and promotion is not enough, etc. Based on the study above, taking into account the general laws of Chinese university education as well as the special laws of education in universities of nationalities, this thesis has given the following suggestions and opinions about the promotion of Performance Pay reform in universities of nationalities:Firstly, direction of Performance Pay reform should keep the same pace with Chinese personnel system reform, embody the particular characteristics of different nationalities, play the role of adjustment of Performance Pay reform and show people-oriented spirit. Secondly, system design of Performance Pay reform should resolve well the relations between Assessment and distribution, Present situation and the development, Individual and team. Thirdly, supportability of Performance Pay reform should perfect full employment system, establish a fair and just evaluation system, remain stable policy system, and establish a stable source of funding channels. To sum up, through some researches and reflections, this thesis tends to make an in-depth analysis about the problems and their causes in the actual operation of Performance Pay reform in universities of nationalities and have a discussion about the improvement so as to offer some help to decision making in deepening Performance Pay reform in universities of nationalities.
