In the continuous development of modern society, with the continuous progress of material civilization, people’s demand for spiritual civilization also increases accordingly.The timeliness of the information become faster, around with news,reports, speeches and other practical writing, the role of practical writing in modern society is becoming increasingly prominent.Whoever want to learn real useful knowledge in this era of information explosion, have a good ability to read practical writing is very important. In a global perspective, foreign curriculum and teaching pay a lot of attention to reading teaching of practical writing. In Chinese teaching, raises students good ability of reading practical writing could help students lay a foundation of life-long learning and the ability of social life in the future. Therefore, how to correctly presented teaching content of practical writing in textbooks, service for teaching better, become an important study part for editors.Based on statistics the high school Chinese textbook’s quantity and class of practical writing in People Education Press and East China Normal University Press,this study constructed an analysis framework for practical writing teaching content by employing literature research, content analysis, text case study and other research methodologies. Based on this, the study use this framework classified practical writing text’s exercises after texts in high school Chinese textbook of People Education Press and the design intend of exercises after texts in teacher’s teaching book, practical writing text’s in high school Chinese textbook of East China Normal University Press and teaching objectives、key teaching points in teacher’s teaching book, analyze and discuss the content of mainly five class of practical writing in textbooks(including argumentative articles, popular science articles, news, speech,essays), also discuss the teaching content of same text in two sets of textbooks:“bringism” “I have a dream”“speech in Marx’s tomb”.This research mainly concludes four major outcomes of practical writing in high school Chinese textbooks. First, the number of practical writing in high school Chinese textbooks is insufficiency. Second, the class of practical writing is not widely distributed, there are mainly five class of practical writing in high school Chinese textbooks. Third, the teaching content of practical writing is uncertainly, the requirements and guide direction of exercises after texts in high school Chinese textbooks and teaching objectives、key teaching points in teacher’s teaching book.Fourth, some practical writing’s teaching content nave mistake, the teaching content still need to consider.According to above research outcomes, the study came up with four suggestions for high school Chinese textbooks editors. First, suggest add the number of practical writing in textbooks. Secondly, expand the class of practical writing in textbooks, rich the class of practical writing in textbooks. Third, clearly pointed out that teaching content in textbooks,make the exercises after texts have more specific learning requirements, teachers teaching book could provide teachers with operational teaching advice. Fourth, correctly deal with the teaching content, textbook editors need according to the text’s class, reference the related resources to deal with the teaching content.
