A Study On The Construction Of Social Division Of Yi Jia Le And Its Influence

With the improvement of living standards of urban residents,demand of rural leisure is growing.Under this condition,a lot of ethnic minority areas feature minority culture to attract visitors.In this kind of tourism industry,discussing the pattern,cause and influence of gender division of labor completely and systematically is a route to have insight into the development of the local women and Yi farm stay business.This paper focuses on gender division of labor in Yi farm stay business as research content and Qian village in Sichuan province as research area.Using the method of depth interviews and field notes to collect information in field research. Discussing the pattern of gender division of labor though the analysis of both sexes’work contents in Yi farm stay,the cause of gender division of labor though the resource differences between the sexes and the impacts on women and Yi farm stay business which contains production and living.Because of the development of Yi farm stay business,the pattern of gender division of labor changes.Part of women’private labor change into the market labor through the Yi farm stay business.But the division of labor is still ’men outside,women inside’ with Yi farm stay as the boundary which means that host is responsible for overall development and outside work of Yi farm stay while hostess is responsible for household work and entertaining guests.This pattern gives sexes different work contents and life experiences,dividing the Yi farm stay works into public and private parts.Males manage outside works in the public part and females manage inside works in the private part.The resource differences between the sexes is the main cause of this pattern.Males take advantage of the economic,human and the skill resource to control public domain.The pattern of Yi farm stay’s gender division of labor confine females to the farm,holding back females’ operating ability of dealing with the public affairs.At the period of Yi farm stay business’s scale extending,the labor model has negative effect on human resources which is not conducive to the development of Yi farm stay business.
